FAQs
This project is necessary because the pavement of this section of SR 32 has reached the end of its useful life and must be replaced. Project elements will include resurfacing SR 32 from Lakeview Drive to 6th Street, full-depth replacement from 6th Street to 16th Street, and resurfacing from 16th to 19th streets. Due to the pavement borings and the condition of the road surface, the bricks will not be saved.
Construction will begin as early as March and continue through the end of 2024.
Construction will primarily be along SR 32 between 6th and 16th Streets in Noblesville. Additional resurfacing work will occur east of Lakeview Drive to the river and between 16th and 19th Streets. There are also intersection improvements along SR 37 as part of this overall project.
There will be roadway closures, but we are developing roadway and pedestrian detour routes so that access to all businesses can be maintained during construction. Detour route information will be available on our website and social media channels. The existing sidewalks will be preserved to the extent possible.

This program works with Google Maps and communicates alternative routes when there are restrictions or closures. Our team will update CARS when there are changes before we start the next phase of the project.

There will be detour signage to help avoid trucks coming into town to the best extent possible. Deliveries to businesses will still have access, and we plan to minimize truck flow through downtown as best as we can.
INDOT is putting in 12 inches of stone and approximately 12 inches of asphalt to replace the pavement. We are doing this to help avoid dust and will minimize dust and other construction impacts the best we can.
